Googleスマホ「Pixel」シリーズにおける新機能や2021年12月分のセキュリティーパッチが案内！

Googleは6日（現地時間）、同社が開発・販売するスマートフォン（スマホ）「Pixel」シリーズに提供する新機能「Pixel feature drops」（ http://g.co/pixel/updates ）の第7弾を提供開始したとお知らせしています。おおよそ3ヶ月ごとにリリースおよび案内されるPixel feature dropsですが、今年6月に案内された第6弾に続いてとなります。なお、9月はAndroid 12」の正式版がリリースされたこともあって飛ばされました。第7弾ではすでに「Pixel 6」および「Pixel 6 Pro」で対応していた「レコーダー」アプリにおける日本語の自動文字起こしがPixel 3シリーズ以降でも利用可能になるほか、今年10月に開催した発表会で紹介された「Quick Tap to Snap」や音声増幅による会話モードなどの新機能がいよいよ利用できるようになり、さらにPixel 6 Proは超広帯域（UWB）が有効になるということです。これらのPixel feature dropsはPixel 6とPixel 6 Pro以外ではすでに提供が順次開始されており、今後数週間に渡ってソフトウェア更新およびアプリ配信マーケット「Google Play」における各アプリで順次配信される予定とのこと。なお、同社は合わせてAndroidの月次セキュリティーパッチの2021年12月分を提供開始し、6個のCriticalおよび38個のHigh、3個のModerateに相当する脆弱性が修正されています。これに合わせてPixel 6とPixel 6 Proを除くPixelシリーズについては2021年12月5日付けのAndroidセキュリティーパッチレベルを含むソフトウェア更新が提供されており、更新後のビルド番号は日本向けを含むグルーバルモデルでは対象のPixel 3シリーズ以降で「SQ1A.211205.008」となっており、セキュリティー修正の他にカーネルのバージョンアップを含むアップデートやかなり多くのさまざまな不具合が修正されています。対象機種は「Pixel 5a (5G)」および「Pixel 5」、「Pixel 4a (5G)」、「Pixel 4a」、「Pixel 4」、「Pixel 4 XL」、「Pixel 3a」、「Pixel 3a XL」、「Pixel 3」、「Pixel 3 XL」で、すでにファクトリーイメージも配信開始されているほか、ネットワーク経由による更新（OTA）も配信開始されています。なお、Pixel 6とPixel 6 Proについては来週より2021年12月5日付けのAndroidセキュリティーパッチレベルや今回のPixel feature occasionally disconnect device from Wi-Fi in certain conditions.PixelシリーズにはAndroidセキュリティパッチが毎月提供されているほか、おおよそ3ヶ月ごとに新機能としてPixel feature dropsが提供されており、第1弾が2019年12月、第2弾が2020年3月、第3弾が2020年6月、Android 11正式版のリリースを挟んで第4弾が2020年12月、第5弾が2021年3月、第6弾が2021年6月に提供されてきました。そして今回、Android 12正式版のリリースを挟んだ第7弾の提供となりました。案内されている変更点は以下の7個となっています。その他、すでに案内されているようにBMWと提携して一部の国・地域のBMWの2020-2022モデルの車種にてPixel 6とPixel 6 Proをデジタルカーキーとして使えるようになるほか、Pixel 6 ProではUWBが利用可能となり、ローカル共有サービス「Neaby Share」における位置情報がより正確になってファイルなどをより安全に送受信できるようになるということです。1）「Quick Tap to Snap」機能の追加新たに背面を2回タップすると、写真共有アプリ「Snapchat」の全機能が素早く起動できる「Quick Tap to Snap」機能が追加されます。またSnapchatのチャット機能にてPixelシリーズのライブ翻訳などの一部機能が利用可能となります。これにより、スクリーンショット撮影や音楽再生などがより素早く行えるようになり、GoogleではPixelシリーズがロック画面から最も速くSnapchatで写真共有ができるようになるとしています。Quick Tap to SnapはPixel 4a (5G)以降で利用可能となるとのこと。また今月より新しいPixelシリーズ専用のレンズ「Pixel Face」が追加され、Quick Tap to Snapから利用できるようになるということです。Googleではさらに今後のPixel feature dropsにてより多くのPixel専用レンズが登場する予定だとしています。2）音声増幅アプリに会話モードが追加音声増幅（Sound Amplifier）アプリのアクセシビリティー機能として新たに会話（Conversation）モード（ベータ）が提供開始されます。会話モードでは機械学習（ML）を用いて端末上で処理する相手の声を認識し、雑音に囲まれた環境でもノイズを抑えて相手の声を聞き取りやすいように増幅してくれます。使い方は会話したい相手にPixelを向けるだけと、簡単なユーザーインターフェース（UI）となっているとのこと。3）「Now Playing」をアップデートPixelの近くで流れている曲を端末上で認識して解析し、その楽曲を特定して情報を確認できる「Now Playing」がPixel 4以降でアップデートされます。これにより、Now Playingを有効化して自動的に識別していない場合でも新しい検索ボタンをタップすることでNow Playingを利用できるようになります。また特定された音楽で気に入った曲はロック画面で表示される情報の横にある音符アイコンをタップして保存可能となるとのこと。4）「Pixel Buds A」シリーズの低音レベルコントロール改善完全ワイヤレスイヤホン「Pixel Buds A」シリーズの低音レベルコントロールが改善されます。これにより、Android 6.0以降では「Pixel Buds」アプリにてスライダーを使って低音を−1から＋4に調整できるようになり、現在の低音範囲の2倍にすることができます。5）交通事故の検出と記録に対応日本およびアメリカ、イタリア、フランス、スペイン、アイルランド、イギリス、オーストラリア、シンガポール、台湾にて自動車事故の検出と記録がPixel 3以降にてサポートされるようになりました。「Personal Safety」アプリで自動車事故の検出がオンになっている場合に重大な自動車事故にあったかどうかを検出するのに役立ちます。またクラッシュが検出されると、チェックインして問題がないかどうかを確認し、応答がない場合はPixelが現在地やその他の関連情報を緊急時対応要員と共有できます。なお、この機能はネットワーク接続やその他の要因に依存しているため、利用できない場合や、交通事故の検出に対応するすべての国・地域で利用できるとは限らないとのこと。6）「レコーダー」アプリでの自動文字起こしの日本語などへの対応が対象機種拡大「レコーダー」アプリでの自動文字起こしに新しい言語を使用できるようになっています。これにより、Pixel 3以降でも日本語およびフランス語、ドイツ語で自動文字起こしが可能となります。7）新しい壁紙が追加国際障害者デーを祝ってブリティッシュコロンビア州バンクーバーの障害者の学際的アーティストであるDana
